South Africa 1928-1994 Flag

Interest in membership of a Commonwealth Free Trade Area has been expressed by some South Africans and South African expats. They wish to work with like-minded nations to protect their democracy and expand their economy by building up links with markets in Europe, Asia and North America. For the time being, just an economic association is being sought by South Africans.

South Africa vs. World

Nota Bene: The South African flag used here is the 1928-1994 flag, not the flag currently in use since 1994. South Africans loyal to the Commonwealth prefer this flag. This flag is also a special version of the Old South African flag done from scratch, since it appears in the Commonwealth's typical 1:2 proportions for flags instead of the more common 2:3 proportions. The political map of South Africa shown here is also the old map of the provinces, not the new one.
