Caribbean
Most of the island nations of the Caribbean (West Indies) belong to a Caribbean Common Market called CARICOM. These islands have been under British influence for over 300 years and many Caribbean peoples have settled in the United Kingdom and Canada. Canada is now pursuing free trade links with CARICOM. The Commonwealth Nations Research Society believes that the Commonwealth Caribbean nations should belong to a Commonwealth Free Trade Area to secure overseas markets for them.
